Russell Tregonning
Wellington Bike Life profiles people who ride bikes in Wellington. Today we meet semi-retired surgeon, Russell Tregonning.
Biking gives me such a thrill, says Russell. "I can hear the birds. I can sense the atmosphere around me in
a way I can't do in my car. I love it."
"There's some superb cycle lanes there now but they have to be finished. We've got a big gap between NIWA and Cobham Drive, and that is a gap that needs to be filled."
He says that putting down temporary bike lanes (like Brooklyn hill) quickly is the way to go.
"We can do the Rolls-Royce version later."
Russell is member of OraTaiao, the New Zealand Climate and Health Council, and a trustee of Great Harbour Way trust.
