Maddy Dal Sasso
Wellington Bike Life profiles people who ride bikes. Today we meet Maddy Dal Sasso, a year 13 student.
"I ride anywhere that I need to go whether that's to school, to the supermarket to the harborside market,
around the bays, anywhere that I need to go," says Maddy.
"What I like about riding my bike is that it has allowed me to feel independent and confident and capable.
Since I could ride a bike it's allowed me to go where I need to go without my parents and without paying money, and without getting stuck in traffic."
She says it could be better.
"I've honestly lost count of the times that I've been almost hit and lots of times I have actually been hit by cars.
The Council making separated protected bike lanes would really help."
