Wellington Bike Life profiles people who ride bikes in Wellington. Today we meet kindergarten teacher and mountain biker, Joe Purdy.

Joe rides from Strathmore around the south coast to Owhiro Bay kindy.
"I do it as often as I can. I love it. On days like this there's nothing I'd rather be doing."
Other places he likes to cycle around Wellington are the trails - Makara Peak and Polhill.

Joe would like to see more cycleways linking up.
"I can get most of the way to Wellington via a cycleway, but not all the way, so I'm still having that pressure of the cars and then if I want to go further I can't always do it in a peaceful and relaxed manner."
